Weddings from Whole Picture

Wedding Photography with Lisa and Hefin

Last Saturday’s wedding was quite possibly my very favourite EVER!! Lisa and Hefin are such lovely people and were so relaxed on the day that they made it easy for us. I immediately fell in love with Lisa’s 1950s inspired dress and she was an absolute natural in front of the camera.

We started the day with Lisa’s family, whose home opens out straight onto the Teifi Estuary – what more could you ask for perfect picture taking!

Lisa makes me think of a swan here – full of grace and confidence!

Then we caught up with Hefin and the boys at the pub, before going on to St Thomas’s church in St Dogmaels.

Hefin with his best man Gareth demonstrating the personality that makes him such a great children’s television presenter on S4C. Gareth used to play rugby for Wales, which you would perhaps not guess from this photo! At this point we should say thank you to our previous clients Awena and Cefin for recommending us to their friends. Gareth was also best man at Awena and Cefin’s wedding!

The forecast rain never happened so although it was very windy we were able to take photos in the abbey ruins next door to the church. Lisa was up for anything, climbing onto the walls in her high heels without a second thought!

Then it was off to Rhosygilwen Mansion for the reception. It was our first time here for a few years and it’s gorgeous now both inside and out! The natural light in here was fantastic! They only hold a very limited number of weddings here, but it’s a great choice so get in quick!

While the guests walked over to the banqueting hall, Lisa was driven round looking like a celebrity!

Finally, I wanted to mention the very moving speech by Lisa’s father Dai. Three years ago he was diagnosed with an aneurism; in the ‘extra’ three years he has been blessed with, two grandchildren have been born and his second daughter married. Instead of wedding favours, Lisa and Hefin had chosen to make a donation to the British Heart Foundation and gave each guest a tiny red pin to signify it. Dai beautifully personalised this donation by suggesting that perhaps it would allow another man like him to look his grandchildren in the eyes and walk his daughter down the aisle.

Thanks again to Lisa and Hefin and your wonderful families for letting us share your amazing day.
