Weddings from Whole Picture

Wedding day with Ellie and Clint at Carreg Cennen Castle

Our very hot couple Ellie and Clint had a stunning hot Saturday in late September for their wedding at Carreg Cennen Castle near Llandeilo. This was such a beautiful day in all ways: a gorgeous gown on an even more gorgeous bride, a spectacular location, and a reception styled like My Dream Wedding! I will be pinning my own photos like crazy onto my Pinterest board dream wedding!!! (Don’t try and tell me you haven’t got some kind of wedding Pinterest board, even if you’re already married!)

But anyway, I’ll enthuse more about that later! We started the day with Ellie’s family, at a very lovely rented cottage called The Stable, Bethlehem!

Ellie’s wedding transport was beyond cute – an amazing Austin Seven that her dad bought when he was 16 years old – and it was an antique then!! Ellie’s brother had worked very hard to have it in mint condition and glistening ready for the day, and it was definitely much admired.

The bouquets were another detail I fell in love with – not flowers but lovely bundles of berries. So refreshing and natural!

During the signing of the register, Sarah Howells from the band Paper Aeroplanes and a former neighbour of Ellie’s played a couple of numbers. I was stunned into almost complete inactivity by her incredible voice (I’m secretly a singer at heart!) which I like to think explains rather a lack of creativity in the shots I belatedly remembered to take of her!! I’ve been pleasantly addicted to Paper Aeroplanes ever since.

We took a stroll up up the steep hill to the castle ruins for some awesome photo opps. Ellie and Clint had told us that photographing the beautiful countryside surrounding the castle and venue was very important to them. You can see how truly idyllic it is – we think Carreg Cennen is the best castle in Wales!

I walked into this space and instantly fell in love! Now personally I wish we could have outdoor reception dinners in this country, but if I was styling my wedding again and had to do it indoors, THIS is what it would look like! Bunting, hanging lanterns, milk churns (actually I would never have thought of milk churns, but seriously – MILK CHURNS!!!!), rough wood tables with runners not cloths, beautiful vintage milk bottles, kraft paper menus and little wooden pegs. Perfect!!!! And so perfect for this room with the gorgeous wooden ceiling.

We just about caught the final rays of sun for some lovely last portraits after the speeches.

A slideshow of all the photos from this brilliant day is available to view on the Clients page of our Wedding Photography web site.

Thanks to you both and your lovely families for a warm welcome and a memorable day.
